About Jefferson County Housing Authority

The Jefferson County Housing Authority was incorporated on October 15, 1941, in order to provide safe and sanitary housing for qualified low-income persons residing in the Jefferson County, Ala., area. The Housing Authority is a public corporation duly organized and validly existing under the provisions of the Code of Alabama 1975, Title 24, CH 1, Article 3. We are governed by a five member Board of Commissioners, each appointed to their position by a member of the Jefferson County, Ala., Board of Commissioners.
